LEGAL REQUIREMENT FOR GETTING MARRIED IN COSTA RICA

Getting married in Costa Rica is really quite simple. All you have to do for a civil marriage is to fill out a form with general information about the Bride & Groom (name, birthplace, address...) and bring the required documents (current passports, birth certificates...) All weddings in Costa Rica must be conducted by a Lawyer to make your marriage legal in your hometown. Costa Rican law require
two witnesses at the ceremony to sign the necessary documents.

People think that getting married in Costa Rica is a complex matter however you won't have to worry about any complicated paperwork, we are working with competent Lawyers who, in most cases, will substitute all the documents and make your lives much easier by drawing up a sworm statement from the Bride & Groom. After the ceremony, the Bride, Groom and Witnesses will sign a marriage certificate. It will automatically and immediately legalize the wedding. The Lawyer
will fill out the paperwork with the embassy. Once everything is processed a copy will be forward to you in your hometown.

I don’t think a place really matters that much when two people are marrying each other. It can be in any of the beautiful venues in Chicago but what is more important is that your closed ones like your family and friends must be a part of your special day.
